The appellation Lalande de Pomerol The vineyards cover a surface area of some 1,100 hectares.Two hundred winegrowers devote their energy to making the great wines of Lalande de Pomerol. The Merlot is by far the most widely-planted grape variety. It produces round, elegant wines. The Cabernet Franc gives the wines body and a lovely bouquet.The Cabernet Cauvignon is far less widespread, but contributes a deep colour, character, and a great deal of finesse to the bouquet. This variety also adds to the wines' ageing potential.The winegrowers in Lalande de Pomerol value both tradition and modernity.
