The Baillis
The Baillis de Lalande de Pomerol owe their name to the time of the soldier-monks.
This vinous brotherhood is one of the most active in Bordeaux and is always in
the forefront of convivial events whose ultimate purpose is to promote the quality
of our wines.Created one century after the local Winegrowers' Association, in
1984, the Baillis' motto is:
" cordi habeo…"
"j'ai à cœur... " or "My heart tells me to".
The Baillis include men and women whose devotion to their terroir is unconditional.
They are responsible for perpetuating a unique winegrowing and cultural heritage
that links men to the soil. They defend the image of Lalande de Pomerol with
lots of hard work and enthusiasm.
The Baillis de Lalande de Pomerol regularly join forces with other vinous brotherhoods
belonging to the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux to promote their wines a prestigious
tastings (for both trade professionals and the general public) around the world.
Their goal is to spread the good word about one of life's great natural pleasures.
The Baillis de Lalande de Pomerol brotherhood is twinned with the Brotherhood
of Maroilles Cheese which works closely with the Syndicat des Fabriquants et
Affineurs de Maroilles.
